The LT-5V from Mitsubishi (Diatone in Japan) is a vertical record player with linear tonearm. Thanks to its vertical design, the LT-5V only needs a depth of 20 cm. It fits into almost any shelf, cupboard, narrow console or window sill. Since it is operated exclusively from the front, the device can be placed at eye level. The black disc finds a particularly secure position on the LT-5V platter: A stable, hinged bracket holds it on the central axis. With light pressure, the holder snaps into place and fixes the disc in the center. The technology: Belt drive, two turntable bearings and internal flywheel for weight compensation guarantee minimal wear and low-vibration, stable synchronization over a long period of time. The vertically suspended, tangentially guided tone arm makes no tracking errors. A motor guides the tone arm over the record with opto-electronic control and 0.1 degree accuracy. A second motor takes over the vertical movement, raising and lowering the arm. OPTONICA RP-114H (1982)

The RP-114H was introduced in 1982 by Sharp under their Optonica brand name. This is a vertical standing highly sophisticated turntable. The incorporated technology lets you play both sides of the disc automatically and there is also a CD like track skip function for enhanced comfort. To achieve this the RP-114 is equipped with not one but two Linear Tracking tonearm. There were two versions available, the RP-104 that had a special connector to be used with the Optonica 104 System.
